Helpful Herbs for HIV

Herbalists suggest these herbs as health boosters. AIDS patients should keep abreast of the latest research and act according to the latest and best findings. Below are the best herbs for immune boosters known at this time. The following herbs should be discussed with your doctor and used in addition to prescribed medications. Always follow his advice.

1. St. John’s Wart tea brewed with oregano, self-heal and hyssop, sweetened generously with licorice. In studies licorice has inhibited the growth of HIV in test tubes. Japanese scientists claim that licorice delays the appearance of symptoms related to AIDS. Duke suggests adding a one ounce piece of licorice root to a quart of any herbal tea. Three cups a day are recommended, more can cause headaches and excessive loss of potassium.
2. Black Eyed Susan is a strong immune stimulate. Use five teaspoons of the dried herb per cup of boiling water and drink two or three cups a day.
3. Blessed Thistle have anti HIV activity. Steep about five teaspoons to a cup of boiling water and drink two to three cups a day.
4. Echinacca also know as coneflower is one of the best immune stimulates. It also increases the body’s own antiviral compounds. it helps white blood cells reach infected parts of the body. Make tea with five teaspoons of dried herb in one cup of boiling water. Take two or three times a day. It isn’t advised to take every day. Take it for a week and skip a week.
5. Eat a lot of garlic and onions and leave the skins on to get the full benefits. Eat three to five cloves of garlic a day. Garlic may inhabit the spread of HIV within the body. Onion contains the antioxidant compound quercetin concentrated in the onion skins. Cook garlic and onion in stews and soups or eat them alone.
6. Pears, eat a pear every day. It’s an immune stimulate and has activity against HIV.
7. Eat elderberries, lots of fruits, vegetables and legumes, Brazil nuts,and whole grains.
